It feels like the semester's in swing, which is great. Last night at the bar everybody was drinking whiskey - neat, rocks, Johnny JumpUps - and Guiness and Darren donated a pack of Silk Cuts to the cause. Jeano even managed to snag the title of Limerick Champion from Lizard, although instead of a nice kelley green shirt she was rewarded with a Miller Lite shirt.
I'm slowly coming around the idea that yes, Virginia, summer is ending. Usually I adore fall, but this year I've been very resistant to anything indicating that warm sunny days are dwindling. I just need to psyche myself up to apples, root vegetable stew, pints of Guiness, balls of twine, picking leaves from the dog's fur, bright blue days, chilly evenings. Okay, I'm ready. Bring it.
Today at Baker's Square, lunching with Jeano and Chad, I posed the question: Name three things you like. Mine are going out to lunch, fresh-hot french fries dipped in tartar sauce, and Project Runway. Although I have to say, Laura is almost as stupid as Wendy. Suze and Rob, if you happen to run into Laura in NYC, please stab her with a pair of scissors.
This is all.
