fall fun (especially for those of us in Japan)

It's mid-October 'round these parts, which means that once again we gathered to carve some pumpkins and eat some pie and cover Panko's table in pumpkin guts. Actually, I am not taking credit for any of last night's festivities, since I was sitting around in my work clothes smelling of steak-bleach when Chad and Lizard walked into our house and told P, B, and I to get ourselves over to St. Clair for cider and whatnot. Thus, thanks to all parties, especially Panko, whose rug is now covered in pumpkin seeds.

Anskov, I'm sure you're missing us terribly, so here's a clip of our antics. There's no sound, but you can bet that Lizard said the phrase "funnin' around" several times, and more than one person shouted GOOOOSH! every time stuff fell out of the pumpkin.

Look for Panko stuffing a pumpkin with both a spoon and a Sharpie, and - my favorite part - the very beginning, where Liz inexplicably tosses some gut at Chaddo, who is quietly working to finish his carving.

  1. Hey thanks for the great movie - just what I needed! I went out and got a pumpkin, watched your video and flung the guts at my iBook so I could be part of the fun (incidentally, if you are ever in Japan and lonely for your friends at halloween, I don't recommend this course of action).

BTW: Any idea of how much carving pumpkins cost in Japan? In my town, about $20.00/pumpkin. In Tokyo - $40.00 If any of you want to start a pumpkin patch business in Japan, I think we could make millions of yen.

Liz, Chad, B, and Panko - great to see you all!

I had a little fall fun myself yesterday and will be posting the pics soon - of course fall fun, Japanese style, always means that seaweed will make an appearance somewhere.

Thanks again, for the great post.

  2. Trust me, Chad was asking for it. And in my own defense, I still don't know where "funnin' around" came from - I blame Panko.
