teaching tip #1: If you would like to make all your Minnesota-born-and-raised students consider you a total idiot
... make sure to say, in response to hearing that not one, not two, but three of them have chosen to write their persona poems from the POV of Joe Mauer, "Joe who? Mauer? Who's that?"

Um? Three, huh? Wow. Somehow I'm doubting three students could make baseball and poetry work. I'm sensing a lot of adverbs.
