I have to admit that I miss Project Runway and Top Chef more than I thought I would, even the last stupid episodes featuring Marcel and Ilan, who were clearly paired based on their dramalicious personalities, and thus in several moments of late-night weakness I have tried to watch Top Design. I think it's probably the equivalent of quitting drinking and then resorting to drinking cooking sherry, which is to say, it's just close enough to what you're actually craving to break your heart.
Gah. I hate the way Todd Oldham speaks, and the way the judges do too, and I especially hate that every single contestant on this show is so irritating and drama-y that I have the feeling that if I were ever forced to spend more than two minutes in an elevator with them, I would kill them all before the seventh floor bell even dinged. And btw, the title of this post is a direct quotation of the dismissal of contestants.
What really stings tonight is that I realized that while I was trying to watch the show, I missed the episode of Good Eats I've wanted to see for a while - the one on casseroles, which I was really looking forward to, because I just know Alton would have mentioned that up here, they call any casserole hot dish, and then shaken his head in disbelief.
You know, entirely half the time I get it in my head to try something and google for recipe ideas, it'll return an Alton Brown recipe. I really wish we got the Food Network up here. Oh well.
