thing I will not miss about my current apartment #1

The basement kitchen, in addition to being a shithole, floods all the time. The last time someone called the landlord to tell him this, he showed up, took a look at the water pooling all over the dirty floor, and turned down our central air from 73 degrees to 83 degrees.

And yet the water is still there! I KNOW! Weird. My housemate's solution has been to strategically place boards over the puddles so that you can island-hop over the water and to the washer and dryer.

In an attempt to pump me up about moving, I am going to catalog things that I will not miss, once I move to the new apartment and its beige apartment-y glory. Therefore, our debut Thing I will not miss about my current apartment is... the shitty basement. (Though, of course, I might miss the very Oregon Trail-y feel of fording the river to reach The Promised Land, aka, The Dryer.)

  1. I may have some things to add to your list. I will let you know when they come up. I'm trying to decide if "the bathroom" should be its own thing, or if I should divide it into a bunch of little things I hate about the bathroom, such as: the rectangle tile that comes off near the tub.

I did find your note~a day or two after you left. Meaning, that a day or two after you left, I, for some reason had to smoke a cigarette.

The note made me cry. A happy sort of cry, as in: God, I have great friends. I never ever thought so many people would know me so well. I never thought small gestures meant so much.

Anyway, looking forward to cleaning Highland. And by cleaning, I mean: not really cleaning but drinking and talking about the weirdness of the house you are about to leave forever.
