happy labor, everyone!

Two things that have reminded me lately that we are no longer in Kansas, so to speak:

#1. The Wal-Mart vision clerk who, upon hearing my address, insisted on sharing with me her two favorite places to get curry, then encouraged me to try ordering one with tofu because, as she confided, Even though I'm not a vegetarian, I just really like the way they do their tofu.

#2. While returning from a walk with the dog (the path of which eventually takes us up to some really, really nice homes, but also through some really, really skeevy apartment complexes and the parking lot of the porn shop), I ran into a guy. Who was sweaty. And zipping up his pants.

I'm up to GB for the weekend to visit a certain penguin, and I plan on rolling in tomorrow evening after work, kicking off my adult shoes and making a big pitcher of raspberry margaritas, which makes me nearly as excited as the dog at the park.

  2. Yes, I also wish to comment on the look of pure elation on Truman's face. That is a seriously happy dog.

  3. X--Have a good time in Green Bay. I am full of wishes that I could be there with the two of you.

As I told Jenny yesterday, I bought a pull-put couch this week. Meaning: You have somewhere to sleep when you come! And the springs are probably really uncomfortable!

    Yay!

And I like the new pic.
