coooooooool

So as some of you may have figured out by now, the healthcare marketing gig pays the bills, and lets me see a doctor, and is sometimes sufferable. And it has taught me many, many skills that I plan on using one day someplace not at the healthcare marketing gig. It also put me in contact with several people in Madison who I think are the shit. And those people and myself have been known to drink wine and eat curry and have impromptu Sunday-morning pancake parties, which is nice.

Also nice: a few of those people have tipped me off to cool things going on in Madison. Such as my work friend B, who is a former teacher and current graphic designer who volunteered me as the freelance copywriter for a new little design firm. A firm that also happens to design wedding invitations, which I, in turn, happen to think is the shit. Anyway, since we got back from WNY I've been working on stuff for them, and today the web site went live with yours truly's very own copy on it.

It's not much, but it's kind of weird to see something I wrote for a business suddenly be on the web. I mean, I wrote shit for the BER page, but BER wasn't all green and blue, and I didn't sit around drinking tea and talking the ideas of green and brown and blue to designers who then turned that into an actual page. And I definitely didn't get to sit around and look through color bridges and say, Can we do an invite with a barn-door fold and maybe some brown and pink here?

So there you have it. It's not a big deal, but it's sort of a neat start. At least now I can be all, Click here. Click there. Yeah. That's my work! instead of (sigh) Yeah. No, I hear you. I need to write that the Emergency Room can handle emergencies.

  2. For some reason it is very important to me that the website to which you contribute your content is hip and pretty and polished. And it is. And I am happy. Yay, X.
