I returned to my city this afternoon, fresh from MSP HD 4.5 or whatever number we're on, to a card from my father in my mailbox.
This card:
It was a little surprising, to say the least. I looked at it for a minute or two, trying to figure out what had drawn him to it--the dogs? Was the copy supposed to be sarcastic? The man isn't one for little cards. Usually he draws a little doodle on a piece of DuPont graph paper and folds a check into it. I was stumped.
And then I opened it. He'd written Happy Birthday. Sorry about the card. A "garbage" card was $1.29 while a "good" card was at least $3.00.
I opted for a garbage card.
