vignettes, Thursday

This evening, driving home and the windows down, all you could hear was the sound of the tornado sirens wailing wailing.

I leave the job in a week, although I have successfully negotiated to return from the 30th to the 9th as a freelance consultant. It will be similar to work, only when I leave for lunch I don't have to come back.

In true form, I have prepared overview folders on all my clients. They are teal. And the handwriting is impeccable.

Tonight, talking to a butter-voiced self-proclaimed Romeo Lenovo support guy in Atlanta, I ate cherries. Below the window, a woman and her aging dog sat in a foot and a half of standing rainwater pooled in the backyard. Why not.

One week from today I'll be en route to the ocean. Probably a good idea.
