so jus' chill until the next episode

The weekend found both a B arriving via ferry and the AV rolling through town in order to borrow a tent for her out-West adventure. It also found us practicing the tent-building at the zoo around 7 am, and me introducing her to the wonder that is Meijer (where else to head when you need alfalfa sprouts and a lantern mantle at 8:50 am?), and waving goodbye as she drove west.

Then there were walks with the dog, and buying gladiolas and little succulents, and grilling up some jerk chicken (stupid jerk chicken! ha), and hanging out on a quilt at the park, and catching Hamlet 2 with four other people in the theater, two of which were quite old and not quite amused by the use of the word "pussy," (they never are), and reading out on the roof, and checking out the beaches of Holland and Muskegon, and eating gazpacho with the neighbors, and taking walks around the neighborhood and me pointing out architectural details on old houses that I admire and the B not really caring, and drinking gin, and making me my favorite breakfast, eggs in a basket, and discussing how I am TOTALLY now voting for McCain because his running mate is a woman! just like me!, and generally just enjoying the company of each other before we head, respectively, back and to school.

Also great was that the B fixed my iTunes, so in the composing of this post I've listened to both Fugazi and Nuthin' but a "G" Thang.

Now I'm off to do a bunch of piddly things that I didn't do all weekend, such as pay some bills and renew my magazine subscriptions and wash my jeans and maybe buy some shoes. Or, as Snoop might say: it's like this and like that and like this and uh.
