what's for dinner? mostly butter

My humble suggestion for the best Thursday night dinner ever:

Boil up some store-bought gnocchi (surprisingly, the AF/Target brand is not half-bad) in a big salty pot. While that's going, roughly chop a couple toes of garlic and fry them up in a mostly-butter, a-little-olive-oil combination. Add a heap of fresh black and white pepper. Toss gnocchi in the mixture, top with fresh chopped sage and maybe some of that fancy Parm you have lazing around.

Suggested pairings: Lennie Briscoe and a white dog, who will be sorely disappointed to learn that there is nothing left to lick from the bowl, because you, you dirty bastard, sop up every last bite.

The best thing about this recipe is that it takes maybe ten minutes to make. The worst thing is that it's a calorie fest, but you can also convince yourself that you'll go running in the morning, so enjoy.
