I'm going to interrupt my regular blogging--let's hold on the assorted fall things, dumb shit the dog does, food I'd like to eat, and pictures of trees for a moment here--to make a small announcement.
BWTK has arrived.
Here I could say a lot of things about how cool it was to watch this manuscript take shape, to watch which stories were shuffled and which were cut and which were added.
How cool it was to camp out at our round kitchen table or my desk on the cold Madison winter weekends and help make edits.
How amazing it is to live alongside a writer. How amazing to be there for the day the call comes in and be there every step of the rest of the way, from acceptance to proofs, and watch these things happen and unfold.
How it blows my mind to think that the stories he first told me--back when we were first dating in the gorgeous clear blue Minnesota fall--are now on a printed page.
And how I could not be prouder.
