I am up to my elbows in shit today--both metaphorical and literal--but a quick list of some current favorites, I think, will go a long way in helping me.
* peppermint-green tea;
* a few new Etsy prints, framed and up in my office (I mentioned to someone that I had ordered something from Etsy, and they said, Let me guess, it involves a bird in some way? and yes, they are right);
* speaking of birds, this poem;
* the recent additional of some phenomenally trashy music to my running mix.
* speaking of running--a new red scarf, found on the sidewalk the other night;
* still speaking of running, the indoor track at the Y, which is spongy and surrounded by windows and up on the third floor, so that on a bright morning it feels as if you are running laps on top of the city;
* not speaking of running, the first class of the day.
* the song "Make-Out Bandit";
* dropping seven dollars on cheese;
* Mountain Spring-scented Tide, which does not smell like any mountain spring that I can recall, but makes the sheets smell nice all the same.
* the last excerpt in this article, which, yes, is regarding GG, but the excerpt itself is not. Also, you may find this really disgusting, or hilarious, or both, as I do. Let's just say that if you have no interest in hair-metal groupies, leave this one be;
* wool socks;
* this cartoon, which I watched last night for the first time in years and found so oddly charming and funny all at the same time, especially the neon "EVIL SCIENTIST" and "BOO" signs--and the whole ether plot point is a nice touch.
Now then.
