hey, you left your folder behind, but that's probably okay

Today I find a folder in the classroom. I like to open these things students leave behind. I usually look for a name, then prop the item up on the white board with a note: Noah in Poli Sci, is this is your folder? It makes me feel purposeful. I like to think that maybe it's a bit of good karma. And seeing as we have five weeks left, I like to think that maybe I can help a frantic student retrieve ten weeks' worth of lecture notes.

I open the folder. It contains two sheets of paper: a syllabus for CS150, Intro to Computing, and a piece of paper with the following written on it:

This weeks assignments

CJ: journal due
Ent: 10 Ideas
CS: word 2 exercise
Poli Sci: Film review due Thursday 5 pm

Dorm: GET FUCKED UP--TONIGHT

I am pretty sure that no student is frantically searching for these CS notes.

  1. I was about to make fun of this, but then I remembered that I spent most of my grad school workshops drawing pictures of smiling mugs of beer on my folders.

Remember? One time I made you a whole party of cocktail drawings during Roger's class.

To do next Friday: GET FIZ-UCKED UP IN K-TOWN.

  2. It reminds me of how I used to write myself these little daily to-do lists in grad school--and on days that found me feeling particularly puckish, I would add a giant DRINK FACE OFF TONIGHT item.

    CHECK CHECK CHECK.
