I woke to this e-mail in my inbox, the first I've ever received:
Hey, I thought you might get a kick out of knowing that I’ve taught your poem “I Keep Goldfish” in my creative writing classes since I first read it in Mid-American Review several years ago now. It fits very nicely into “cataloguing” as a conceptual strategy for organizing and/or generating poems. Students have always loved it and can repeat some of the lines (“Because I envy anything/with a three-second memory…”).
Hope you are doing well and writing much.

Thanks, South Carolina. This means more than you might ever know.
Suh-weet.
