This is the last weekend I'll have open for a while before the great shitstorm that is first drafts and portfolios comes through. Oh, and speaking of storms, did anyone else notice that it's cold up here?
In that optimistic vein, here's what I want to get done:
* write at least one poem
* finalize the CW course calendar and assigned readings
* finish this book and maybe start this one or this one
* get through Jellyfish and some other favorites
* send out some query letters
* make pumpkin ravioli and corn chowder
I've stocked the cupboards and tossed down a shiraz-soaked cork to occupy the dog. Which means, yeah, I could actually get some of this shit done.
Crafting query letters makes me churlish, as does snow piled up against the back door. Good thing I have this semester's classes in puppy folders. Some days, that's what you need--sad Lab puppies with big blue eyes, and dopey Rottie puppies. That and a new box of those super-cute little binder clips, and maybe some corn chowder with lots of crusty bread, will carry you through the coldest of days.
