currently love

I'm feeling very positive today! Let's make a currently love list.

*Sally Hansen Complete Manicure nail polish in (sigh) Kook-A-Mango
*the current forecast, which is calling for temps only in the high eighties
*watching anoles run on the back deck in the morning
*the smell of campus: pine sap and fried chicken
*first paychecks
*that on a Friday night, sipping Sweetwater from a mason jar at the local bar tavern (there are no bars in this town; only taverns, which serve food, can have a liquor license) I can text my brother what are you doing this weekend? and three minutes later we have made plans to meet up

All this and only one last stack of papers to grade? Saturday, you're so cool.

*shopping with my brother and the B at Hong Kong Supermarket, especially the part when a ferocious tiny woman shoved my six-foot-plus brother out of the way to get her hands around a jackfruit
*my office, which finally feels broken in despite its lack of window-age
*this song, especially when driving around at twilight
*mums popping up at the markets
