happy thanksgiving, meatie

If you haven't been in my general vicinity lately, then the only real thing that you haven't heard about is my return to meat-eating. Yes yes. I was supposed to blog about this like eight times and then I just didn't, for one reason or another, but anyway, here's your five line catch-up paragraph:

I was vegetarian for almost three years to the day because I wanted to try eating more vegetables and not just hot dogs and originally it started as a bet to myself that I couldn't do it for a month and then it lasted for a while but this past winter I began questioning my motives and philosophy towards food in general and then after returning from the Adirondacks decided to try eating some meat again and now I do.

Ta da. Anyway, so I ate my first Thanksgiving turkey in three years yesterday, and it was great. Although I still do not eat necks.

It's been a good couple of days. A fair amount of alcohol flowed, I finished all those portfolios, and today all I have to do is sit here in the green chair, read poetry, and drink decaf. Fabulous.

This morning the house is quiet and feels like winter break of past years, and I am excited. After the semester ends I have three weeks of quality Kato time - just writing and waiting tables until the second of January, at which point the B and Truman and I will head east for two weeks. This semester has been great, but it is time for it to be ... over.

Truman's Thanksgiving present was to bring the kickball into the house.

  1. Nice picture of Blue's and Liz's asses. The soft lighting makes it oh so romantic.

Sounds like you're having a relaxing night. Good show, chap.

  2. Is that chalkboard paint on the kitchen cabinets?

    That is so incredibly cool.

Coloured chalk and legos: two things that will never, ever get old.

  3. Thanks for the Thanksgiving message on my blog. Looks like yours was nice. Really missing Minnesota at this time of the year.

  4. Anskov: sorry. I left it whilst a tad drunk. Out of character, I know.

Of course it's chalkboard paint! IS there any other? Besides, uh, regular paint? And exterior paint?
